IOWA APPEARS BE COLOR BLIND
There has been much to fret about when viewing recent American history. There has been a incessant stream of negative news appearing daily since the innauguration of the Bush administration. This does not mean that the Democrats have not had their share of bad input.
But to have Obama win the Iowa caucus by 7 points - a thin black man winning decisively in a white state - has got to be an extraordinary historical event that is likely to send a powerfully important positive message to the whole world.
I eagerly await the world's response to this political earthquake.
Additionally it is hard to find character flaws in this man. He connects, is personable, highly sensitive, intelligent, and decent.
Every so often there is in our history a political leader who is a true statesmen. Could it be that we are witnessing one in the making?
No I am not counting out Ms. Clinton, nor Mr. Edwards nor the Republican winner but tonight is Obama's night and everyone loves a strong and improbable winner.
Imagine such a free election in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Russia, China indeed most of the world. Whatever the long term outcome tonight is good for America, all Americans, as well as for all of the citizens of the world.
